As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how .legal’s products have evolved over the year. Looking back, it’s clear that a lot has happened.
This applies to both the development of our platform and its usage. Over the course of the year, we’ve released more than 20 new releases, and at the same time, the number of customers and users has increased significantly.
It’s fantastic to see how the development of our platform and the growth in users go hand in hand. We build our platform so you can work more efficiently, with more automation and greater intuitiveness in compliance. When more users join as the platform becomes smarter, it’s a clear sign that our value proposition is succeeding.
I am incredibly proud to present a look back at the many new features we introduced in 2024 – and to give you a sneak peek into what’s ahead in 2025.
Let’s start with the recent rebranding of our GRC platform. Over the years, we’ve gone from being a simple GDPR compliance platform that helped create a record of processing activities (RoPA) to offering a fully functional GRC platform. It now covers compliance within data protection, information security, cybersecurity, and vendor management.
The name “Privacy” had become misleading, as the platform now supports much more than just data privacy. Our development journey has also led us to consolidate more of our products into a single platform. Therefore, we decided to unify everything under the name .legal GRC Platform. The Privacy logo has been retired, and going forward, you’ll see .legal as the brand across the platform.
Overall, we’ve been working to create a more unified experience for our products. We’ve reduced the number of standalone products to just two core offerings. The next natural step is to integrate the contract module into the same platform. Our goal is to offer a single unified platform with various modules that can be activated. This will also be reflected on our website and in our communication moving forward. All of this is to provide you with even greater value and to make use of the natural overlaps between compliance areas.
2024 has brought several major expansions to the platform. Here are the highlights:
We started the year by launching our information and cybersecurity module. This module extended the platform from just GDPR compliance to include overall data security. There are natural overlaps between these areas, so it makes perfect sense for the modules to work seamlessly together.
The launch introduced features like system and asset mapping, risk management, and control planning – all with access to ISO27001 and ISO27002 standards.
Although the implementation deadline for NIS2 has been postponed for Danish companies, many are already working to meet the requirements. That’s why NIS2 has been a key focus within the information and cybersecurity module. The platform now supports NIS2 with risk management, threat assessments, and standard activities for both implementation and operations.
The incident log was the final piece missing in our GDPR compliance module to cover all essential requirements. At the same time, the log is also critical for areas like NIS2. That made it a welcome addition, which we introduced earlier this year.
One of the largest releases this year was our Vendor Management module. Initially designed for risk management and supplier audits, it has since been expanded to include much more.
We integrated functionality from our previous DPA Service product directly into the GRC platform, enabling you to manage both data processors and other suppliers. The module allows you to create your own classification and audit templates. We also added new features like internal audits and the ability to send questionnaires within your organisation, for example, for DPIAs or awareness training.
We also introduced a declarations module as an add-on to the GRC platform. It is designed to streamline the process of working with declarations like ISAE3000 and ISAE3402.

As our platform has grown in functionality, the need for an overview has also increased. That’s why we launched our first dashboard this year, providing an operational overview of your most critical tasks. The dashboard is designed to make compliance work more manageable and simplify reporting to management.
In addition to the major releases, we’ve made a wide range of smaller updates based on feedback from our users. Your input is invaluable, and it helps us improve the platform every day. You can find more details about these updates on our product blog.
2024 has been a year full of development, but we’re already looking ahead to 2025. Here are three major projects on our roadmap:
Open API
We’ll launch version 1 of our open API to make it easier to integrate our platform with other systems. The focus will be on enabling data import and export between systems.
Risk Module Generation 2
We’re developing a new version of the risk module with greater flexibility and efficiency, allowing it to cover more use cases.
Next-Generation Contract Management
Our contract management module, Pactius, will be integrated into the GRC platform. This will enable better integration with other compliance areas like NIS2 and IT security.
