We're excited to introduce new features that enhance your control over compliance task management. In this update, you'll discover how to create tasks from various sections of the platform, visualise relationships between tasks, and set up independent tasks outside the annual wheel. These improvements are designed to streamline your workflow, ensuring every task is easily tracked and managed.
We’ve introduced a new feature that allows you to create tasks with references from various parts of the platform. You can now create tasks directly from:
Tasks can be created via the overflow menu (the three green dots in the list) or by using the edit icon in the top right corner of the page. Simply click "Create Task", then enter a name, responsible person, business area, and deadline.
Once created, the task will automatically be linked to the entity from which it was initiated.
We’ve introduced a new "Tasks" tab on most pages, making it easier to manage tasks related to a specific entity.

This improvement provides a clearer overview and streamlines task management, ensuring that all relevant tasks are easily accessible and manageable within their respective contexts.
We’ve improved the way task relationships are displayed, making it easier to understand and manage connections between tasks and relevant entities.
When opening a task, you will now see a relations box showing which entities the task is linked to. This provides better context and helps ensure that tasks are clearly associated with the right processing activities, assets, risks, policies, or other relevant entities.
Additionally, an upcoming enhancement will allow you to add new relationships directly from the relations box, giving you greater flexibility in managing task dependencies without needing to navigate elsewhere.
You can now create tasks directly within task management—without linking them to the annual wheel. This feature is designed for tasks that fall outside the structured, strategic planning of the annual wheel, giving you greater flexibility in managing your day-to-day work.
These independent tasks are ideal for:
✔ Ad hoc and unplanned tasks that arise spontaneously and need quick action.
✔ Operational and recurring tasks that support daily workflows but aren’t tied to strategic milestones.
✔ Personal and team-specific tasks that help individuals and departments stay organised without affecting the broader compliance framework.
✔ One-off compliance actions that don’t fit into a recurring cycle but still require tracking.
For example, you might need to follow up on a data processing agreement for a specific asset — a task that is important but doesn’t necessarily belong in the structured compliance calendar.
With this enhancement, you gain greater control over task management, ensuring that all necessary actions—both planned and unplanned—are properly tracked and completed.
On the task management board, you can now easily distinguish between ad hoc tasks and tasks originating from the annual wheel. Annual wheel tasks are marked with a dedicated icon, which links directly to the relevant annual wheel activity when clicked.
Additionally, we’ve introduced a filter that allows you to sort tasks based on their type.
Please note that most details for annual wheel tasks must still be edited within the annual wheel activity, whereas all information can be modified directly for ad hoc tasks.
